The activity book is designed as a companion text to NYSSCA's New York State School Comprehensive Counseling Program Model (2003). This model is based on the American School Counseling Association's National Standards for School Counseling Programs (1997) and attends to academic, vocational, and personal/social needs of children in New York State.

The activities were designed to assist with operationalizing these standards. The majority of the lessons were revised from an earlier edition of these manuals. These lessons have been designed by practicing school counselors, counselor educators and graduate students in a school counseling program. Each lesson is cross-referenced to the New York State Learning Standards and the National Standards for School Counseling.

Enjoy this book and use it for ideas to supplement the school counseling program. The vision is to provide support to school counselors as they engage in classroom activities and promote their program to all students.
