Kimberly Cook, an Army and Air Force veteran, coaches military personnel to write their stories in this easy to use guide. Based on her "writer's basic training" courses, she gets veterans writing from the first chapter.

Cook exposes writing tactics including:

Why you need to sniff a poncho

Why bad weather and Murphy's Law of Combat Operations make great stories

Why every veteran's story is important to get down on paper or pocket PC

Veteran's memories and Cook's entertaining coaching and classroom examples are all a recruit needs to march their story onto the page.

The book is broken into four parts; Writer Basic Training, Specific Veteran Groups, Using Writing To Heal, and Transitions and Shoving Off.

Appendix A provides guidelines for teachers and counselors about how Kimberly taught the course. Appendix B provides Vet Center Outreach information for the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

"Kim Cook's book provides you with a map to follow for making the heroic journey back home to a happy life," - Al Siebert, PhD, author of "The Survivor Personality" and ex-paratrooper.

Here's what Cook's students have to say:

"A good read and excellent guide loaded with humor and Kim-isms!" - Bob Morris, Vietnam Vet, First Infantry Division, WIA

"Thanks to Kim Cook and her Writing War Stories class, my stories have been published in Military and Vietnam magazines," - David Hammond, Vietnam Vet, Americal Division

"Your family needs to read about the experiences their loved one endured, and the rest of us should be allowed to see them," - Harley L. Wedel, Korean Vet, USS Princeton

"I suggest sending it to someone in the military so they can get a head start on their memoirs," - Chuck James, Vietnam Vet, USS Ernest G. Small

Cook turns warriors into writers. Check out her book today and get started on your military stories.
