About the Book
|
Never before has the Jewish Bible been seen from this point of view. The Bride is His way to portray what’s most pure and beautiful about our relationship to Him. She is expectant: pregnant with hope for the future, joined together with someone who brings out the very best in her.
Like any love relationship, it’s up to us to make the most of it. God wants to take us to a place where we’re no longer enslaved, building memorials to man, building what will surely crumble. We’re to dwell in a land called Beulah – Married. It’s a fruitful Land living under the rain of heaven and flowing with milk and honey. We’re to settle down at God’s House, have kids and become one nation under God that lives forever.
Throughout the pages of law, prophecy and writing, we hear God addressing the old empires like Babylon and Egypt. He illuminates their sins in the Hebrew definition of their names. The characteristics are easily recognized in this final empire – The U.S. – the amalgamation of all that man has constructed in his arrogance and foolish pride.
The U.S. also represents Judah and Israel, for which God had high hopes. It could have impacted the planet in the most positive way. But on its own, without God, we see the result of man’s mismanagement. He’s brought so many species to extinction, and he’s on the brink of being next on the list. The vanity of his labors will become nothing but ashes, like everything else man’s made.
This moment may be the very end of time, the conclusion, not only of all that was ever forecast, but the climax of human history. Our hope is that within these pages, you’ll get caught up by God – the veil will be lifted and you’ll see Him and all He’s prepared for you.
