Heady notes as metaphors for life's journey,the author's style of writing is poetic and beautifully descriptive. Each word is a lyrical literary note. Her prose reads like poetry. This is not a beach book where you escape into another world. This is a book for the serious reader who appreciates fine writing. Pasco’s exquisite, languid prose and detailed characterization bring Underlying Notes to life. A worthwhile and intoxicating read, it is highly recommended. Ms. Pasco amuses from the first line, choosing to start her story with a poetic yet accurate description of a menopausal hot flash, awakening our heroine to a sleepless contemplation of the day to day troubles endured by her loved ones. Very good read.....Eva Pasco is a great author. We need more books written by her!! Pasco's writing is like the scented labyrinths of her perfumes - we are treated to different layers of the story at different times. And when a 'note' or a story segment comes together, it's as if the last piece of a puzzle turns the fragments into a whole picture.
