About the Book
|
We all possess a unique creative ability. It is the most powerful tool available to us, capable of increasing our sense of well-being and personal success immeasurably. Unfortunately so few of us ever use it to its fullest potential, simply because we don’t know how to. Step by step, this book invites you to follow a series of simple logical exercises that will help you to gain new perceptions, identify goals, raise self-esteem and confidence and ultimately surprise yourself at the possibilities life can hold for you.
In Chapter 1 we look at going back to the future to re-engage with your light-hearted and fun side. But it’s not always easy to retain the energy that flowed so easily in childhood, and retain it into adulthood. In this chapter we examine the importance of using our past creativity as children to tap into as adults.
In Chapter 2 we put risk and reality into perspective and examine why thinking up thousands of reasons for not doing something appears much easier than actually doing it. Making decisions can be a great burden, but in this chapter we look at simple techniques for turning difficult decisions into easier options.
Chapter 3 helps you to counteract when negative people say, ‘The grass is not always greener on the other side’. Beliefs can be suffocating and none more so than where you were born or seeding events that you have experienced that have shaped your life. We encourage you to recognise the destructive beliefs in your own life and to learn simple techniques to break free of them.
Chapter 4 asks you to consider your negative thought patterns and digs deep into your subconscious with some simple activities to dispel unwanted thoughts instantly. It will also invite you to build a bonfire and clear out those words in your vocabulary that are no longer help you.
Chapter 5 invites you to look in the mirror to inspire you to change your outlook and allow more colour into your life. Living life in a colourless monotone can cause us to feel lethargic and lifeless and thereby prevent us from acting positively. By following these simple steps you can discover how to raise your mood by the effortless application of colour and design.
Chapter 6 takes goal scoring to a new level as so often you may start new ventures with a clearly defined goal in mind, but lose enthusiasm or direction after a short while.
In this chapter we will show you how to properly formulate your goals, and focus on them with a creative fire that will never burn out again.
Chapter 7 takes you on the final step of surrounding yourself with positive, successful and creative people. It’s not always what you know but who you know and realise that your success team can be vast. On the opposing side, a clear out of the Brain Drain Team may well kick start you into real action.
