If you are a published author you know that not even the biggest NY publishing houses do enough advertising and promotion for the majority of their titles. Buzz your Book written by Douglas Clegg and M.J. Rose will help you with tips and ideas to get your own brainstorm going about how to get the Buzz going on your book.

Clegg and Rose are not only novelists, but have developed expertise in getting word out for their books.

Reviews
Buzz Your Book is the first resource I've read on book promoting and marketing that actually gives concrete suggestions and advice. Even more impressive was the fact that seasoned authors and public relations pros were the ones dishing out the info. I've been galvanized to implement many of the suggestions I can't wait to see the results.

For me, the book has more than paid for itself, though, because it has inspired and uplifted me. I've been tremendously excited and motivated since I read the book.

Thanks,
- Robynn Clairday

About the Author

M. J. Rose, Novelist and Columnist for Wired News.

Rose is the author of two novels: Lip Service and, In Fidelity, which was chosen by Cosmopolitan magazine as the July 2001 Book of the Month. Her next novel, Flesh Tones will be out in July 2002. But Rose also has been involved in advertising and marketing. At twenty-six she was one of the youngest creative directors of an ad agency in NYC and one of her commercials in NY's Museum of Modern Art.

Time magazine called M.J. Rose the "poster girl for e-books" and cited her as one of the first authors to use the Internet an alternative publishing channel. In 1998 BK (Before Stephen King) she self-published her novel Lip Service as an e-book and then in print and sold it online, where it was discovered and picked up by the NY publishing community. Working with her publishers, she continued marketing her own titles and as e-books, Lip Service and In Fidelity both became number one best sellers.

She has been written up in Time, Newsweek, The New York Times, Salon, Business Week, The Wall Street Journal, Writer's Digest and Poets and Writers. And she has appeared on the Today Show, Fox News Live, The Jim Lehrer NewsHour and C-Span. The guidebook that she co-authored with Angela Adair-Hoy, How to Publish and Promote Online, has been praised in Publishers Weekly as "informative and ground-breaking."

Douglas Clegg, novelist, publisher, Internet junkie.

Doug Clegg is the award-winning author of several novels, including the Internet's first publisher-sponsored email serial, Naomi, which Publisher's Weekly called "arguably the first major work of fiction to originate in cyberspace." Naomi then went on to sell both hardcover and paperback rights. A virtual book auction went into effect for his second net serial, Nightmare House, (published online during the summer of 2000.)

Within just a few months upwards of 80,000 readers had downloaded his e-book, Purity, from his website. One of Clegg's novels was made into a movie in 2001 (Bad Karma, starring British actress Patsy Kensit). His latest novel, The Infinite, will be in stores in September 2001.

Right now, almost all of Clegg's novels are in print, with more to come. He has been written up in Time, BusinessWeek, Business 2.0, Publisher's Weekly, Writer's Digest, and many other international, national, and regional publications, and he has been interviewed on National Public Radio and BBC Radio.

His current novels include Naomi, Mischief, The Infinite, and You Come When I Call You.
