A DEMON'S REVENGE.
AN ADDICT'S STRUGGLE.
THE BATTLE FOR THE SOUL OF A TOWN.
Nestled in the heart of the Berkshires, among the sprawling expanse
of wooded hills and scenic vistas, lies Glenwood, Massachusetts-
a perfect picture of suburbia. But when the children of this affluent
town begin vanishing one by one, baffling local and federal authorities
alike, Glenwood becomes anything but a utopia.
Built upon the ruins of a lost colony, Glenwood is home to a long-forgotten
secret, and when three strangers are lured into the midnight woods
by the phantom of a Puritan boy, they discover the truth of the
town's dark past and must face the vision of its bloody future.
Together, this unlikely trio- Jay Gallagher, an alcoholic ex-school
teacher; Tim Hanson, a wise-cracking new kid in town; and Sarah
Connelly, a nine-year-old girl with a host of imaginary friends-
must somehow find a way to rescue the town from a vengeful demon
and its legion of human slaves, but in order for them to succeed...
Jay must first conquer his own inner demons.
Journey into the heart of an ancient evil... Where the Dark
One Sleeps.

This novel should be read in full daylight or a well-lit room. If the day is dark or the room dim, reading this novel could scare the bejabbers out of you. Cavignano has a gift for the creepy. He knows where the monsters hide and he'll take you there. Like any good gothic story, Where the Dark One Sleeps has engaging characters, people we have to care about or else the creepy thing doesn't matter. Cavignano has the skill to make us care as well as cringe. If your cravings take you to the sci-fi channel, let them carry you as well to Where the Dark One Sleeps. Read it while you stand in the security line at the airport. The time will fly and so will the pages. And you'll be glad for the bright lights.
